40M Digital Nets

Post by DCJon »

ALCON,

Starting Sunday 27 July, I'm hosting a 40M digital net each 1st and 3rd Sunday at 2000 EST. The 1st and 3rd FULL week, that is.

7.078 USB with CONTESTIA 4/250

For those really really close to my Northern Virginia Shack, I'll host a short 2m Voice net at 2030. 146.42 Simplex. I'd love to use repeaters but they're probably not available to us during real world emergencies.

See you Sunday.

Changed the 2030L 2M net to a CB Channel 36LSB net. You do have a SSB CB, right?

Chicken Band? Of coarse. Oops. I mean of course. LoL

I still have most of my gear, but I have been inactive for several years. I was working with ARES to get my Net Control and formal traffic training. I really had a good time.

Hope it goes well. Might dust off the old 2m/440 and dial-in.

I haven't had check ins with 2M simplex (not surprising) so I thought Channel 36LSB might reach a bit further to non-hams. If you have a shortwave radio, a computer and (free) FLDIGI installed, you can listen and copy any digital message traffic.

It's a 40m net so NVIS should work very well.

September 2014's Digital Nets will be held on the 7th and 21st at 0000Z. You'll find us at 7.078 USB +1200 using CONTESTIA 4/250. We'll immediately follow at 0030Z with a CB Channel 36LSB voice net.

Anyone with an SSB capable shortwave radio and computer can listen.

Don't have my HAM license yet (studying) but I'd sure like to listen if you ever decide to go on 146.42 Simplex.

Do you have a SSB capable CB? I run twice monthly CB nets to reach more non-licensed people.
