America's Obituary

Post by GS78 »

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning last November's Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

This a very interesting phenomena. I've recently done some research about the election of 2008. If you look at every state carried by obama he did so merely by carrying the population centers. ALL rural areas were carried by mccain. The answer is simple. Those looking for handouts congregate at the places where they can get them easiest - population centers.

I agree with the author's assertion - if the ilegals get amnesty then we'll have a hard time fighting socialism.

True ,but I do beleive a lot of voters who would have supported McCain sat at home thinking Obama didn;t stand a chance, He gained a lot of support from college type kids who had no idea what they were voting for, and of course the "he;s too old "didn;t help McCain either... Hopefully and it does look that way many people have woke up to see just what a mess we are in and will get off their butts and vote all of this crappy social experiment out of office. The damage they are doing will take years to repair. If the 2010 election nets a lot more new people in Congress, fixing it will be easier if they can head it off at the start...

maybe so, the problem is that the "young people" who helped elect a "historic president" will not be voting in the mid terms, they never do, and after four years of obamas' handouts and increased bullsh*t about saving the rainforests and defeating HATE SPEECH radio, finally curing aids, cancer and student loan debt, the same "young people" who spend more time playing xbox than they do watching the news will come out and vote for obama again. Some will do so just to prove they were right the first time, and some will do so because like the young woman said " if I help obama, he gonna help me too, I wont have to pay my rent, put gas in my car or nothin"... lets face it, we are screwed.

oh, yeah I was going to add, that I remember in 2000 , right after the election and during the recount months, one theme that was coming from the democrats was that the electoral college should be done away with, because they said it doesn't represent the urban community. In other words, and I 'm pretty sure it was Hillary who was pushing this, she said that they(dems) could win all future elections by just concentrating on urban inner city areas, like detroit,LA,New york city,(any urban area) and that is what they did, they concentrated their efforts with the help of ACORN to strictly those areas and proved her point. Now yesterday I heard harry reid wants all people involved in the census, regardless of their immigration status and that the question about their status has been removed from the forms. This will include all illegal aliens in the reapportionment which will totally change the representation of congressional seats,in essence changing the electoral college. (like I said, we're screwd..

We are only screwed if we let them do it. We must fight them on all fronts. I'll use the gays again. How do you think they've advanced their cause so far? They all banned together and spoke with one voice. We need to get organized and start fighting now on everything and anything that assaults our Constitution.

thats not exactly true, the reason the "gays" have been able to advance their agenda is that they have the power of the media, including hollywood behgind them as well as the democrat and extreme liberal party too. Its not the fact that they banded together. We are OUTNUMBERED.plain and simple. While most republicans and more specifically conservatives were working and raising only the amount of children we thought we could afford financially, others were mass reproducing. (I realize that gays have not been reproducing, but their sympathizers have. Those same 'young people' who voted for obama are also pro gay.

case in point, look what happened to rush limbaugh this week , from the power of the media. He was dumped from the bid to buy an NFL team, because of lies that were spread about him nationally by the media. period. Conservatives have ONE media outlet. I stand by my earlier assumption that we are outnumbered.

If we let that happen we deserve it... Instead of saying how we are screwed ,it would help immensely if everyone gets involved and actually WORKS to get those horses patoots out of office, We all know it looks glum but it is our own damn fault.. We were asleep at the wheel and they slipped under the wire, It is gonna be a tough fight and each of us should relish the battle rather than cave in or avoid it... We can take this country back .. If we don't fight with all our conviction defeat will still not be an option..Those that still remember the good that America truly is will pick up the sword and enage the battle anew....

Ok. Admit defeat. We are screwed.

As for the media we have fox news. Check the ratings and stock market for the MSM. They are bleeding viewers who are headed to fox news.

You can be if you want. I'm not screwed and I aint gonna get screwed because I'm going to continue to try and encourage people to stand up and fight. AND I'm going to fight along with a couple of others who dare to take a few minutes oout of their busy day to write a letter or make a few calls. Do you really just want to lay down and let all this happen?

you're missing my point, I never said I was "laying down" I write letters to senators newspapers etc... what I did say ,and what I will say again is that no matter how many times you write your senator, whether he has been there twenty years or just got there, you will ALWAYS recieve the same form letter back. You can pound your fist on your dining room table all night long , but if you sent your child to public school because it was CHEAPER and EASIER then its to late for that kid. That child was taught PC bullsh*t, so don't write a paragraph on a blog site and wave pom-poms for the republican party when they are just as much to blame for this mess as any demoncrat. Now, you can chastise me for pointing out the facts, but they are still the facts. You and I have one vote each. We play by the rules. We cherish God, Guns and Guts, but the other team is still winning, why? Its not because they stand together with one voice, its because they are standing with other principalities whose interests shouldn't even be a part of this country's discussions, but is. They are welcoming into the national debate, organizations like the UN, The EU,IMF and others and not only for conversation but for ACTION. We on the other hand are hogtied until at least 2010, and "our representatives" are sitting on their hands . Now if you want to tell me how we can REMOVE some of the pantywastes on the right, that are currently collecting paychecks in D.C. , I'm all ears???

Once again:

1 - conservatives have media coverage. liberal MSM is bleeding viewers and it will most likely continue
2 - liberals wont be in charge forever - 2010 is coming
3 - you and i only have one vote each BUT we have ideals and a mind and hopefuly motivation. we can use those tools to help sway other voters who also have one vote each
4 - the only reason reason "they" are dragging others into this is because they are in power
5 - you and i are only one each and there are power in numbers. gays and other do have special interests supporting them but so do we. NRA, GOA, VCDL, millions of other gun owners, celebrities, etc
6 - we have plenty going for us all we have to do is get organized and get busy
7 - writing letters is good but we've got to get more people involved in writing and calling congressmen

Now, here is my credo.

We are not screwed. We will not give up. We will fight. We have identified the enemy and we will not give them any quarter. We will fight them on every issue and will continue to do so until we win. Once we declare victory we will not stop. We will appoint ourselves as stewards and watch to ensure this never happens again.

Howdy,

I hope y'all can help me flesh out an idea that won't leave me alone. This thread woke it up again, and it keeps itching my brain.

I have always believed the things that professor Olsen revealed in his analysis. People who think like us are the majority. WE are the mainstream of this nation. Why, then, are we not running things?

Is it because we are unorganized? I don't think so.

As gun owners, we have the NRA. As citizens of maturity, wisdom and experience, we have the AARP. As conservatives, we have the Republican Party. We're not just organized, we are sorted and spindled.

Do these special interest groups really represent us? I have yet to meet an NRA member who thought it was good for us when the NRA teamed up with Carolyn McCarthy in support of her knee-jerk response to the Virginia Tech massacre. How many of us thought that John McCain was the best candidate the Republicans could have put forth? Yes, we have been organized, but how many of us are in a policy-making position within our special interest group?

Speaking of making policy, how many of us are involved in local politics? When I say involved, what I mean is, are you a city council or BOS member? Any school board members here? Do you belong to one of the two major political parties and regularly participate in their meetings?

If you are, God bless you. If you are not, neither am I. There lies the problem, for it was people like you and I that made this the greatest nation on the planet. Policy-making looks like major boring stuff, and I have been content to leave the work in the hands of others. I'm afraid that will have to change if we are going to take this country back.

We need to take direct action at the local level. As gun owners, we are pro-active. We write letters, send e-mails, organize and attend protests. The problem is we are expending our precious time and energy in the wrong places. We need to be the ones receiving the letters and faxes! We can't all get elected to the City Council, but any of us can join the local Party, Republican or Democrat. Just imagine a handful of us, at the local level, repeated in a hundred districts throughout this state, and in the other 49...

This isn't a plan, just an idea born of observation and desperation.

Regards,

George

Dear George...George george george. You are speaking of something I have harped on to no end on another board and you are spot on. Touch down!!!

Our Founders did indeed for us to run this country - not some rich famous group of rock stars. And therein lies the problem. If you aint rich and famous then its difficult to get on the ticket and get elected. Having said that we do need our own - people that want America to be what it was intended to be - in leadership positions. Local is good but we need to be at the state and national level too.

The problems are:

- finding people willing to drop what they are doing and run
- helping to finance those people
- getting them on a ticket where they can influence the system
- getting them elected

DK,

Getting ourselves elected is ok, but not necessary. Something that each one of us CAN do is to get into a position to select the candidates who are nominated. For years the VCDL has urged us to participate not only in primary elections, but in party caucuses as well. This has always deterred me because it requires one to be a party member. I am beginning to realize that the most effective way for us to take our nation back from the liberal usurpers is to work from within the opposition party, the Republicans. But first, we must oust the liberal usurpers from that party. It runs against my grain to join a cause that I do not support, but if a few like-minded folks will join me, we can reshape the party into a force for a return to traditional AMERICAN values.

We began to lose our country when we began taking a greater interest in national affairs at the expense of local involvement. While we obviously need to affect change at the state and national level, we need to infiltrate the party at the local level and work our way up. Ask any of our Yankee friends or those from the "Left" coast -- the ongoing assault on freedom in those regions is a result of state and local politics. Federal matters will begin to sort themselves out once more regular folks are in positions of leadership close to home.

We could call it "Trickle-Up Leadership"

You guys are correct, it will be uphill all the way. Many years ago a small group of ruthless marxists decided to use psycology to their advantage by calling themselves "Bolshevics", meaning to imply that they were in the majority.
We have today a similar situation as a relatively small bunch of noisy agitators are projected by a compliant and supportive media to appear much larger.
Did I hear wrong or was the Republican/Conservative turnout in '08 the lowest in years? It is sad but true that principled people will sit home when they don't see a candidate they agree with.
The existing superstructure of the Republican party is there for the taking, but those I suspect of being closet liberals are in key positions and steering it left.
I really like the term "trikle up leadership". A third party could someday be built, but not in time to save us from much suffering and loss. Conservatives must regain control of the Republican party, and use its resources to regain control of the country.

I got a plan for me, DK,

A neighbor, whom I don't know very well, is or at least used to be in the Republican party. He goes to my church, and I saw him in Sunday School this morning. It is time he and I got better acquainted.

My hope is that other like-minded individuals, especially in those oppressed areas of the northeast and west, will feel the same need and seize the opportunity to act. Just a handful of us could retake a city, a hundred more could easily put the Commonwealth back on course. Just a few thousand will be needed to steer this entire nation back to greatness. There are what, around 4 million NRA members in the US? Shouldn't be hard to find enough warriors once word gets out.

Regards,

George
