Ft Lee POW Range--Is it ever open in Summer?
It seems like anytime I call on weekends, the folks at the Ft Lee POW range say they'll be closed on Sunday for training (reserves no doubt). Or is this a problem year round? I have never used that range and make the call to save myself a long drive for nothing. Is the range a good one ?

I shot there several times in the last couple of years. I would always call first. I only live 10 minutes away and when I called they would say theres a few shooting...When I got there it may be a 45 minute wait. The Hell with that ...I bought land and built my own Range.

The fellow who oversaw the POW range (and archery range on Post) died unexpectedly earlier this summer. As of my last contact with them, they were searching for someone to fill that position, but I believe it may be a volunteer position so people are not lining up to do so.
Best bet is to call them periodically and see if the range has been reopened.

Interesting. I thought it was because of reserve training on weekends, although lately, they didn't actually give that reason.CoryB wrote:The fellow who oversaw the POW range (and archery range on Post) died unexpectedly earlier this summer. I just assumed it was.
