VCDL-PAC congratulates SENATOR-ELECT Ben Chafin on his crushing win in
the 38th Virginia Senate district!

The VCDL-PAC is proud to have played a role in winning that very
important seat.

Chafin's election gives Republicans in the Virginia Senate a narrow one
seat majority over Democrats, TAKING CONTROL OF THE SENATE FROM VIRULENT
ANTI-GUN POLITICIANS DICK SASLAW AND DONALD McEACHIN, WHILE RENDERING
ANTI-GUN LT. GOV. RALPH NORTHAM MOSTLY IRRELEVANT!

Virginia gun owners, who saw several good pro-gun bills die because of
maneuvers by Saslaw and McEachin, can breathe a sigh of relief...FOR THE
COMING YEAR. I very much look forward to working with SENATOR Chafin
next January!

Now we will have yet another special election to fill Senator-elect
Chafin's old House seat! Stay tuned for that.

The VCDL-PAC thanks ALL OF YOU who live in the 38th Senate district for
getting out there and making this happen. I love to watch this group in
action!

The Democrat contender, Mike Hymes, said one thing on his VCDL survey
and then was caught on a recording saying the opposite at a fundraiser.
Since there was no way of knowing what Hymes really believed on the
issues, you took action that helped push the VCDL-PAC endorsee, Ben
Chafin, to win the election by better than 60%!

If you don't live in the 38th District, but pitched in to make this
victory possible, THANK YOU, TOO!

Now comes the hard part. This was merely the opening salvo. In less
than 15 months, ALL 140 SEATS IN THE VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL BE
UP FOR GRABS!

I pledge to each of you that the next year and a half of my life will be
CONSUMED with getting pro-gun candidates elected. But I will, of
course, need your help.

A year ago, gun owner apathy led to a disaster at the polls, putting
rabid anti-gun zealots in all three statewide offices. Anti-gun and
other interests spent MILLIONS in EACH race. In comparison,
contributions to VCDL-PAC gave it only a miniscule amount of money to
work with. The VCDL-PAC was frugal and made the money stretch as far as
it could, but it did limit how far it could go and how many races it
could impact.

We CANNOT afford a repeat of last year.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but the painful fact is that
protecting our rights is expensive. If we are grossly over-matched
again next year, then we could end up RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED THIS
JANUARY.

Please help me avoid that.

Some of you are making MONTHLY contributions, and I CANNOT thank you
enough. Nothing flashy, just consistent. I hope that anyone who can,
will consider doing so. If you can't do it monthly, I understand -
times are tough. But if you can't contribute regularly, please do so
whenever you can.
