This Tuesday, August 19, 2014, there will be a Special Election in the
following districts:

All seven candidates running for these three General Assembly positions
were sent the VCDL 2014 Candidate Survey.

So far:

-- All three candidates in the 38th Senate District have answered
the Survey. VCDL previously published an audio of Democrat Mike Hymes
expressing support for handgun registration and a ban on AR-15s for
civilians, positions which conflict with at least one question on the
VCDL Survey. While acknowledging it was he on the recording, he says he
does not support those restrictions. Does this mean that he was against
the restrictions before he was for the restrictions before he was
against the restrictions?

-- None of the candidates in the 48th House District have answered.

-- Only one (Marcus Calabrese) answered in the 90th House District.
However, Marcus Calabrese emailed me an UNSIGNED survey and even
though I followed up with a request for a SIGNED survey from him, I
still have not received one.

If any of the candidates are afraid to take a public stand on these
issues now, BEFORE the election, then they are unlikely to be very
responsive to your views AFTER the election.

Failure to return a completed survey frequently indicates indifference,
if not outright hostility, toward the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
