I never see anyone but cops OC around here. Had the day off today. Hung out with my son, running erands and what-not. OC'ed all day in NOVA. No one said anything. No one ran in fear. Just lots of smiles. Not what I expected.

I just broke the ice this week at the Tip Top Restaurant in Charlottesville and OCed my 1911 there. Great place for spaghetti & meatball special BTW.

Most of my cover summer garments look like tents on me since I've lost ~80 lbs and haven't invested a lot in new shirts yet.

I regularly OC at WalMart and Kroger stores here with nary a bad reaction and several positive comments in the last months.

Well, for the first time ever, I was thanked for OC'ing today.

I was at BK in Manassas (intersection of 28 and 234 by-pass) during a local car club Cruise-in. While eating, a friendly guy came over and said "its nice to see you guys open carrying out here."

I said thanks. We chatted for a second about the gun show. But that was it. Thought it was nice since this was the first time I OC'ed and got a positive response.

I was thanked by an off duty officer, once. That kind of caught me off guard.

Now that is cool.

Do you guys remeber that police survey where patrol officers and other "field" LEO's said they prefer an legally armed citizen? That was an eye-opening read.
