Saiga 410 shotgun with 3" shot size 4

Post by cahisnay »

I recently purchased a Saiga 410 shotgun and some size 4 shot. Does anyone know where I can go to practice shooting? It seems that most shooting ranges require you to buy the ammunition from them or to have 7 1/2 or higher. I would really like to use my own ammo.

Hi, I am in Fairfax County VA. Thanks for the welcome. I am willing to drive 2-3 hours to a shooting range and would prefer to stay in VA. My Saiga 410 also has a pistol grip. Apparently this is also restricted at some ranges.

Here is a link for Hite Hollow close to Staunton
http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/gwj/northriver/ ... llow.shtml

There is also a similar setup west of Harrisonburg on Rt33 just over the mountain in West Virginia.

You can shoot just about anything you want at both sites and there is a Shoot-n-greet at Hite Hollow every other month--check out Meet & Greet Forum for more info

I've never seen a pistol grip restriction at any range that allows shotguns. That doesnt make much sense. Shot size I can understand.

Bull Run Regional Park Shooting Center told me and my friends that they did not allow the pistol grip. I guess that is not classified as a range.

Just checked it out. No I wouldnt say thats a range either. More like a social club for people to gather on Sunday morning to shoot the breeze more than anything else.

cahisnay - why dont you post a note in the http://vagunforum.net/new-members/ and tell us where you're from. That will help folks direct you to a suitable range, hopefully all of which allow shotguns with pistol grips.
