Her first time shooting a .45 or a 1911...

A few FTE and stove pipes during the first 100, after that it was greased lighting

POA/POI is amazing, a very nice buy!

Aww it's cute, what are you going to name it? XD

Seriously though I like the GI model 1911s, they're not fancy but don't need to be!

Man, that's sexy. I've always been a "less is more" kinda guy. Nothing beats a classic 1911. Except maybe Pie... but that's it!

I really believe that new shooters that plan on buying striker fired pistols should never ever shoot a 1911. Otherwise they will never ever be happy with their triggers. I enjoy my XDm's but I am constantly trying new parts to find a trigger I can live with. Enjoy your new purchase.

I like the GI 1911s, too. Only problem is, I can't see them little bitty sights well enough anymore. I can do without extended grip safety spurs, skeletonized triggers and hammers, oversized safeties and mag releases and all that other fancy, but I really do miss a good set of sights.

@dorminWS; The GI 1911 can be reclassified as a point shooter or, if you must aim, a little paint goes a long way.

That's true. I was just remarking on my reduced capacity to enjoy the GI version; that's all. But I'll admit; at longer ranges, I sho'nuf must aim.

Tight groups at a distance are fun.
