New in RVA

Post by katenka »

Hello!

New to being a firearm owner now for about 2 whole weeks. Picked up a Ruger LC9 for open carry and practiced with it for the first time yesterday after 8 years of no range time. The long trigger pull was causing me to I guess, get lazy on the wait and ended up shooting lower than I liked. I'll definitely have to work on fixing that.
Took the husband to Green Top this morning and he is now looking to get an open carry weapon also  Possibly the Para Expert or the Sig p220.. He also wants to get a .308 savage but I think that will be at a way later date, lol.

Anyway, just looking for an active local community with common interests!

:welcome: Welcome to VGOF! :welcome:

If you're shooting low, there's a good chance you are anticipating the recoil... that LCP can be pretty snappy. Catch up with ProShooter on here http://vagunforum.net/memberlist.php?mo ... ofile&u=58

and sign up for some training before you cement a bad habit. :friends:
Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...

Just looked all around the site. Thanks! The private shooting lessons are very reasonably priced! May have to take advantage of one or two to get back into the swing of things. Basic pistol course may be handy also since I'm rusty? I feel like a lot of the material in those classes you never really forget though... Safety is basically pounded into your head from day 1.
