So, they made one side of the frame weaker than the other and shortened the barrel so that there's less velocity, more flash, and more noise from the shot.
I love j-frames but I think this is a lousy way to go with it.

I predict that Taurus will replace the gun's window with a normal side plate, or at least offer that as an option. I think the gun will sell well - A 9-ounce, shorter 38 special snubie will appeal to many.

Neat would be cool to play with in the story but I would also pick the normal one.
