Winter Rifle Marksmanship Training in Boone, NC

Project Appleseed is coming to the Watauga Gun Club in Boone, NC, January 25-26, 2014. These two-day events are an excellent addition to the club and offer two important concepts, marksmanship and heritage. In regards to marksmanship, you will be given the tools and knowledge necessary to achieve consistent hits on 500-yard targets with nothing more than iron sights and a sling. In regards to Heritage, you will be learning about the beginning of our Revolutionary War. Specifically, you will hear what transpired on April 19, 1775 in Lexington and Concord. Unfortunately, if Americans hear about this date at all, it is usually told with more myth than fact. Project Appleseed hopes to change that, so all Americans can honor our forefathers who sacrificed on that day.

If you have been to an Appleseed in the past, you'll want to come to this one and earn the coveted Winterseed Patch. For those of you who haven't attended in the past, this is an excellent opportunity to be exposed to 'real life' conditions with your rifle.

You will need a Centerfire and/or Rimfire rifle and approximately 400 rounds over the 2 days. Cost is $60 for adults and $20 for children 18 and under and free to Law Enforcement, Active Military, and Period Re-enactors that come in period attire. Is this one full-distance or 25 meters only?

They have capacity for 300 yards. We should be able to shoot full distance on Sunday if the Instructor to student ratio makes it safe. Shooters can use centerfire rifles both days, except in the morning on Sunday. The Rifle club has an agreement with the local Church.
