Let me start by saying I am not affiliated with AST.
But they are a good shop. I actually did ask them about this and they were not aware of the issues you claimed. I showed them the post, they remembered the rifle, and they told me their side. Based on what they told me we are really only getting one side of the story, rifle issues and rings included. I am not here to start an internet fight because that is pointless. All they said was they would have appreciated the chance to make it right and even would have bought it back from you.
It sounds like you made up your mind and did not give them that chance so I wouldn't go flaming them when you denied them the chance to fix it.

Re: Picked-up a Nice LR Rifle!
Sorry bro... Don't know what they said to you nor do I care. They had two chances to make a good impression and they screwed up twice in my opinion. I have my opinions and I am entitled to share my opinion so that people don't have the same bad experience that I did.
And honestly, I brought them the rifle and the scope and asked for a mount. I was shown an $80 set of rings and a $150 (maybe $180) QD mount. I picked the cheaper of the two since I had a $70 scope. With both the rifle and the scope in their hands, they got it wrong. I have zero incentive to bring it back to let them fix anything. If they can't figure out that Weaver rings are not proper for a Picatinny rail system for precision optics, how could I trust them for anything else.

Don't know what to say man. I needed help; shopped there twice. Out of everything I bought in good faith, none of it worked. That is not an opinion... that is fact and indisputable. They're supposed to be the pro's, not me.
I have nothing to gain in any way shape or form by voicing my experience. It's clear you are a fan since you made the effort to talk to them about this, showed them the thread and seem to be upset because I didn't give them a chance to fix anything. Why should I? What's in it for you? What do you have to gain or hope to accomplish?
I am missing why you or anyone else would have a problem with me over being sold defective or incorrect items or how anyone can defend them on those issues?

Thanks bro... it was a very nice looking rifle. I did sell it about 2 weeks ago. Bought a brand new LRT-SASS. I am picking it up on Dec 21st.
Fully equipped it was 16.2 lbs. Bare bones it was 11.5.

Re: Picked-up a Nice LR Rifle!
Thank you Sir!
BTW... I have to start exercising my arms and shoulders. That sucker weighs 16 lbs with a full mag and all the stuff I have on it. I can barely shoulder it for a couple of shots before I have to rest my arms.
Definitely a weapon for being posted up on high ground while prone.
