1. Request the application form
You can get the form from HERE, be sure you mark F7CR as the form you want mailed to you. It took about 6 weeks after I requested the application form before I received it. I've been told there is/was a bocklog on orders for all ATF forms. As an alternative, if you have an ATF office nearby you should be able to pick up the forms directly from that office.
2. Complete the application.
There are 2 copies in each application packet. After completing the application form, copy 1 will be returned to ATF with your $30.00 fee- the address to mail it to is on the back of the application. Copy 2 will be sent to your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer. That is all that is required of you. It is up to your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer to contact ATF if he feels there is reason not to issue the license.
3. Receive your license.
After you receive your C&R License- DO NOT SIGN IT. Make copies of it and then store it in a safe place. Use the copies when purchasing C&R firearms. Provide signed copies to any companies you think you might purchase firearms from, having them on file will save time when you do decide to make a purchase.
