Exactumindo. There is a reason that the chief executive officer of the state is in what is called...
"The Executive Branch" and not "The Yet Another Legislative Branch".

As for the AG's office throwing cases in favor of certain ideological viewpoints, I't's already been discussed here, same as the "how do we get term limits?" discussion.

We get term limits by an amendment to the constitution. Read any of the material i've posted.

Virginians It's kinda hard to listen to you're "we'll do better pep talk since I've worked my ass off in every election to block the peogressives for 20 years. Your state is losing individualism and personal independence. Most of your sons and daughters have no morals. Your schools teach unadulterated progressiveism and you don't seem to care. I grant that this is occurring mainly in urban areas.

I don't open carry and never intend to. It violates my theory of self defense and I have no need to parade around inflaming liberals. If I can open carry when hunting and on my own land if I chose that's fine with me.

Taxes will increase and your liberty will diminish. As for me I'm dead tired of fighting Fairfax county and the tidewater region. You're playing a numbers game you can't possibly win.

I just wonder how many of you actually lift a finger to effect your own State other than mouthing off in an on line forum. I lifted mine for you friends for 20 years and i'm done!

First, I love Texas. Well, other than the summer heat (100 degrees in deadlock traffic sucks), I have always enjoyed my longer visits in Texas. That said, I'd be leery of making that my move for the future. The Latino vote is leaning further to the left in the state every day, and they multiply in droves. They're not going to lessen any at all. The Democrats have had the state targeted for a long while now and while no one see's it going blue anytime soon, a 15 years from now may be a very different story. And all of this is vastly sped up the moment the Republicans fall on their knees and cave in on "Immigration Reform."

I still say stick it out (my plan) or move to North Dakota or South Carolina. Good luck wherever you go or stay. I, for one, will miss you here ratherfish and I have to say I agree with your posts in this thread.

All for an election that still is unresolved at both the Gov and AG levels, where count differences are relatively small, and unusual inconsistencies are being discovered? All while nothing has tangibly changed in the last couple of weeks? All while we've been through worse? With less? And survived? And succeeded?

I wish you the best and hope the grass is truly greener in that yard for you. I'm just not convinced the "y'all stink and have not done nearly what I have" is really constructive. If I'm misunderstanding things, my appologies as sometimes I'm kinda dense.

I'm still looking into leaving at some point. Not just because of politics, but a lot of it.

I'm more looking into Montana or North Dakota. The only thing I don't like about ND is how flat it is, not much wooded area to live in but it's a long rage shooting Paradise.

I pre qualified for a communications job with Dept. Of Forestry and once you are in it is a lot easier to move around the country.

Also been looking at oilfield comm jobs. If you get really lucky you can find the one month on one month off gigs.

I love the history in va, but I show no favoritism for any state. I gotta look out for me.

Amazing what you can but in the way of beachfront in Texas for around 125k, and taxes at about 1/3 of Spottsy...Castle docterine and stand your ground are codified. No one accuses you of being a troll for working and supporting conservatives in a purple state for 25 years and goats belong on the backyard BBQ!

I suppose if I was young I would go tp N.D. and join in on the boom. My time in ND previously was spent learning the answer to; "Why not Minot" and that being ..because it's too friggin cold!

A number of drivers in Fort Worth, Texas, last week were likely stunned when they were asked for samples of their breath, saliva and even blood by federal contractors at a police roadblock.

The invasive exercise was part of a government research study that seeks to calculate how many drivers get behind the wheel while drunk or on drugs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reportedly spending $7.9 million on the survey over three years and claims participation was “100 percent voluntary” and anonymous.

However, at least one driver told NBC DFW it didn’t feel voluntary.

Kim Cope said it “doesn’t seem right that you can be forced off the road when you’re not doing anything wrong.”

She claims she tried to gesture to one of the officials that she wanted to be on her way, but they forced her into a parking spot. Cope was shocked when they started asking for cheek swabs and blood samples.

“They were asking for cheek swabs, they would give $10 for that. Also, if you let them take your blood, they would pay you $50 for that,” she explained.

Cope ended up just doing the breathalyzer test just to be done faster. They did not offer any money for the breath test, she said, adding that officials need to make sure this kind of thing never happens again.

“We are reviewing the actions of all police personnel involved to ensure that FWPD policies and procedures were followed. We apologize if any of our drivers and citizens were offended or inconvenienced by the NHTSA National Roadside Survey,” Ft. Worth Police spokesman Sgt. Kelly Peel said in response to inquiries.

The Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, a government contractor based in Calverton, Md., conducted the survey, according to NBC DFW. A spokeswoman refused to speak to the news outlet and referred all questions to NHTS.

Fort Worth attorney Frank Colosi argued the police roadblock was likely unconstitutional.

“You can’t just be pulled over randomly or for no reason,” he added.

I would ask why I am being stopped. If it was anything but being detained for suspicion of a crime, I would promptly be on my way. That is 100% BS.

@marc, you can't do that with "safety stops". With the rerouting, how could you tell it was not legitimate like a "safety stop". At that point, it's pretty much a done deal.
