We all like to see bullet holes in things. What's the best thing you've put bullet holes into? Post pictures if you have them! A nice grouping on a paper target - an old car - an old tree in the back yard - just show us

Back in the late 80's I worked for a distibutor of krylon paint. We would get cans back in that nothing was really wrong with it other than the nozzle had clogged up. The krylon rep came in one day to write up a credit and after he was done said it had to be destroyed. So I ended up with 500 plus cans cans of paint for target pratice. It was neat when you shot it and it went sometimes 50 feet straight up.

Sweet! 500 cans would make for plenty of target practiceVahunter wrote:Back in the late 80's I worked for a distibutor of krylon paint. This is me and some friends' handiwork out off of North Landing in VB. We beat Mythbusters to the punch and cut down a 14" sweet gum with small arms fire. No foolies. The bottom picture is Joe and Mike with the "target" (ol' bootlip) in front of the tree that we shot down.

w00t! Excellent! Not sure why, but for some reason, I had a feeling that you would have a good one for us here wyldewylde007 wrote:This is me and some friends' handiwork out off of North Landing in VB. If that tree had fallen just a couple of degrees to Mike's left, Joe would have had an interesting conversation with his insurance company.allingeneral wrote:w00t! Excellent! Not sure why, but for some reason, I had a feeling that you would have a good one for us here wylde
It just missed his Chevy Tahoe by about 10'.
That was before I got some of my "newer" acquisitions. I really want to get out with them sometime soon. I have yet to fire my Nagant. That's a cannon I am itching to unleash.

Re: What have you shot up?
i've been known to shoot dead electronics while on shooting trips. we usually go to george washington national forest just over the west virginia line, about 30 miles west of harrisonburg, on route 33. there are no rules posted about shooting electronics, but it does say no flying targets, clay shooting, shooting bottles, or paint. we always clean up after ourselves and usually take the dead stuff home, so i think we're cool.
this was a cat toy that didn't make noise, so they were going to throw it out. we shot it instead with a 22.
i've got a couple of friends that work at a pet store, so we shoot free stuff sometimes.
a dead DVD player. it was made by sony, but it was pretty old and just quit reading, so we had to shoot it.
the shock was fun. its a hydro shock from rustysoffroad and when i shot it just right, it started hissing. we were not using steel core, but we did use FMJs from 7.62x54R, 303 british, and 7.5 swiss on it that day, as well as 7.62x39.
zombie targets, the only ones that will eat your brains!
most fun i've had is shooting barbasol. its under a buck a can at walmart and makes a great reactive target for open sights shooting at like 100yd. you can tell instantly if you've hit it or not and the stuff just washes away with the next rain storm, its not as perminent as paint.
good thread.

Glad to see that you put that old DVD player out of its misery. No need in letting it suffer in a life of inadequacy after it can't read a DVD anymore. You did the humane thing there.flowmaster wrote:![]()

Re: What have you shot up?
god those were big holes. i'm really wondering what we had that would've done holes like that. slugs?
i've shot tons of other stuff, but i don't have pictures. various fruit (including a papaya on the end of my bayonet), a U2 edition ipod, old cell phone, several hard drives, computer tower, expired cans of dogfood, printer, a macbook with a bad screen, and some junk my friends got at the dollar store. good times!

Gosh, I was going to post one of my 22 targets, but now I see I need to shoot something more substantial...
