Open Carry Laws

Post by FreedomForMe »

I have been researching open carry laws for quite some time now and I am aware that at 18 I can carry a registered firearm as long as it is clearly viewable (open carry). The trouble I seem to be having is that I cannot find exact open carry laws for Gloucester or any of the areas I would regularly be carrying. Newport News, Yorktown, and Gloucester. If someone knows where I could find these laws please let me know I would greatly appreciate it! :friends:

The State of VA has preempted all gun local laws so that local governments no longer control what happens with guns, the law is the same for all of VA, Also the gun does NOT have to be registered. We don't have that here,

Awesome! I was thinking that was what we had but I could not find anything that would totally clarify on the topic. I am very glad to hear that because trying to look into the individual laws was absurd and I basically couldn't even leave my home with my firearm without creating mass chaos or so those laws claimed. It is registered under my father because he bought if for me a few years ago. Thank you very much, I really appreciate the responses and I am happy to know that I can carry my firearm.
