where to buy ammo in VA?
where to buy ammo in VA?
I recently moved here to VA and a couple people had told me you could just buy ammo here at walmart or sporting goods stores, but so far every walmart or sporting store I've called within probably 15 miles of me does not have .40, which is currently the only gun I have. Is there a reason none of them have .40? Is it easier to just buy ammo online (and is that legal in VA)? thanks for any help

Re: where to buy ammo in VA?
Reason: Obama and his scare tactics, combined with ammo hoarders since December 2012.
Easier to buy online: Yeah, probably, at a hell of a mark up at most sites. Yes, it's also legal.
Just keep going to the stores. Eventually you'll get lucky and can buy a few boxes.

The early bird gets the bullets. You'll need to hit Wally World first thing in the morning to beat the hoarding crew.

List online sites that have ammo in stock. It is legal to order online in VA, most places will require proof of identity before shipping and most will ship with adult signature required. Since ammo is heavy the shipping cost eat up most of the savings you might get over a local gun store unless you are buying 500 to 1000 rounds at a time. Prices for non-reload are not great right now, about 0.38 per round is the cheapest.

Try this one out... they tell you what every walmart has in stock. It is supposed to be updated in real time. http://ammo-can.net/
