CARBINE Classes in VA/NC
Can anyone recommend a good Carbine class in the VA or NC area. I have been researching a few online, just wondering if anyone has taken one recently?

Arright, I'm just gonna go ahead and show my ingnernce, here. What is a "carbine class", what do they teach you, and why is it different than a "rifle class"?
This question assumes that a "rifle class" (which I don't know that I ever heard tell of before, either) is one where they teach you how to shoot and maintain a rifle.

Jim, Got a quick question. How strenuous is that class? Any video samples of similar classes?
My problem is I am 6'2" 380 lbs with asthma and mild osteoarthritis in my knees, hips and back. I spent a few weeks training with a friend of mine, but would like something a bit more structured. My buddy had me hustling and I was pretty beat... but I lived. LOL I want to do more training because if there is ever a real brown fan moment, the bad guys wont care how disabled I am.
I have no plans on intentionally looking for and engaging hostiles if anything domestic occurs. There are much younger and well trained men to handle that. I am concerned about a bug-out or holding down my home if needed and my families safety.
Don't know if you read Mindflayer's wager thread, but there is always concern about this in the back of my mind. http://vagunforum.net/general-discussio ... 18702.html

Give ICE a call. The last time that I spoke with them, they said that if someone didnt have the CFS pre-req, they'd be happy to talk to them about getting into the Carbine class.tursiops wrote:But how do we get the prerequisite in so we can take this class?ProShooter wrote:We are hosting Rob Pincus of ICE Training for his one day carbine class on Oct. 27th. - http://www.icetraining.us/courses/1_Day ... rbine.html

Any course taught by Red Back One with Jason Falla would be outstanding http://www.redbackone.com/. He lives in Chesapeake and on occasion has a local course. Also check out 914 consulting who teaches Vickers Shooting Method (VSM) which is designed for people new to structured shooting courses and would build a great foundation if you don't have any basic courses under your belt http://www.914consulting.com/. The Pincus course looks awesome too! I will be looking into that also.
