Blazer .22 issues?

Post by DryBones »

Anybody have any issues with this ammo. Friday I shot 100 rounds of it through my Sig 1911-22 and had 4 duds, 1 which also failed to eject. I did notice there seems to be a wax coating on the lead and some of the rounds had a wax knob on the side which I was able to rub off but that shouldn't account for the fail to fire. Last time out I shot 100 rounds of CCI Mini Mags with not a single issue. Anybody else think 4 out of 100 is too many fails? Next time I get to run some Federals through it to compare again.

I've not had any dud rounds shooting about 1500 of the .22 Blazer bulk stuff. I did get some barrel leading in my Glock 22 conversion barrel. I suspect the bullet lead used is relatively soft. I did not have this barrel leading issue in two other .22 pistols, a Smith and Wesson M&P 22 and a Ruger 22/45.

CCI mini-mags are much higher quality rounds than any of the bulk stuff and most other non-match .22s as well.

Only issue I have with Blazer if I dont have enough of it! But case is right when else fails you can shell out the cash for mini mags
