Republican Primaries 11 June 2013 - VGOF endorsements

Post by allingeneral »

There are a lot of districts that will be holding primaries for Republican House seats in Richmond. I've tried to put together information from a few different sources to try to get as clear of a picture as possible regarding who should get our vote based only on their stances on firearms.

This is my first attempt to weigh in with any elections, so hopefully, I don't break something :)

Dist 6
Jeff Campbell endorsed by NRA and by VGOF, though he did not answer the VCDL survey.

Dist 15
Todd Gilbert - VCDL-PAC endorsed and VGOF endorsed

Dist 16
Les Adams
Kenneth Bowman
Both candidates answered the VCDL survey, but neither has a record to run on - VGOF is neutral in this race

Dist 19
Terry L Austin
Zachary Hatcher
Zach Martin
James K McKelvey
No survey answers - nothing known about these candidates. This primary is to replace an incumbent that's retiring. No endorsement from VGOF for any candidate.

Dist 28
Craig Ennis answered the survey, but OPPOSES allowing guns on K-12 property. Probably still a big improvement over Howell - we need some new blood here and getting rid of Howell's games in the House would certainly mix things up.

Dist 29 & 54
Beverly Sherwood (incumbent) / Mark Berg (challenger)
Bobby Orrock (incumbent) / Dustin Curtis (challenger)
Both incumbents have a lengthy record of pro-gun votes, but both refuse to go on record with their positions. Both challengers answered the VCDL survey 100%, but have no record to run on. So, you're left to vote for history with no promises or promises with no history. Vote your gut on this one - no VGOF endorsement for any candidate.

Dist 33
VGOF endorses David LaRock

Dist 85
VGOF endorses Scott Taylor

Make sure to get out and vote tomorrow!

Just remember, no promises is just that.
