My Response to Today's Vote

Post by ShotgunBlast »

Feel free to copy any or all of this.

I've been asked if today's failed votes on gun control is a "victory" or if "I've won". Absolutely not. Today's vote is just the culmination of a successful agenda to divide the country on a hot topic. It put current and future gun owners on the defensive in an unnecessary battle to retain EVERYONE'S unalienable rights. It created a politically orchestrated panic on firearms and ammunition so large that our own police forces nationwide are having difficulty sourcing the equipment they need to perform their jobs. And worst of all, it did nothing to actually protect our children in schools, prod those states that are preventing mental health court records from getting into the background check system (18 states in total), force the Justice Department to prosecute more felons that lie when filling out background check forms (currently prosecution rate is at 1% which should be a lot higher considering it's a slam dunk felony conviction), or end the six year vacancy of the director position of the ATF. Victory? No; today was a tragedy that we have wasted months focusing on inanimate objects instead of real solutions.

Ty for using the correct word, shotgun - unalienable.

We still have a gov't that blatantly flaunts an unwillingess to follpw law. Holder's contempt of Congress, Fast and Furious witnesses that ignore subpoenas, pendantic and harrassing ATF paperwork checks for FFL's, etc. Worse is that "The People" seem to be accepting of this.

I reckon that about covers it. One might call the whole thing an exercise in asininity.
