At least that's what Bill Maher wants someone in the Democratic to finally come out and declare. From last night's episode:

This is the problem with the gun debate is that it’s a constant center-right debate. There’s no left in this debate. Everyone on the left is so afraid to say what should be said which is the Second Amendment is bulls—t. Why doesn’t anyone go at the core of it?

You can say whatever you want about Maher, but his show reaches a lot more people than all of us interact with and there was a lot of applause in that audience. Keep prepping everyone.

I agree, but the same thought applies to this forum. You still have the problem that his viewing audience is quite large and includes many moderates that watch for the jokes but can easily be swayed to support his line of thinking.

He's got the same snarky sense of humor, but he's a CONSERVATIVE of sorts, and rather self-depreciating in his jokes.
