I'm new to the charlottesville area and it looks like the nearest public outdoor range is the Hite Hollow range. I'm in the process of joining the Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club, but would like to shoot while I'm waiting to complete all the steps for that.
Does anyone know what I need to take target-wise for this range. I'll be shooting 9mm handgun only and was wondering if I need to take target stands, or if there are stands provided where I can just place paper targets. If they do have stands, do I need cardboard backers as well, or do their stands have backers already.
It's about an hour drive so I would rather know before I leave. Thanks!

Re: Targets for Hite Hollow range
The Hite Hollow range usually has a couple of uprights and some string run between them. At the minimum, clothespins, some cardboard backer, tarets, and a stapler or tape and you can shoot.
On the pistol range, the only line is at 25 yards. If you want to shoot at a shorter range, you'll need to bring your own stands.
My stands are made from 1.5" PVC. a ten foot stick cut into 8 15 inch pieces, 4 elbows, 2 tees, and a pine 1x3 cut in half. Everything but the wood and whatever back board use easily fits in a bag for transport.
Oh, and welcome aboard!
