ALL 67 FLORIDA COUNTY SHERIFFS SIGN PLEDGE TO PROTECT THE RIGHT OF CITIZENS TO BEAR ARMS

Constitutional Sheriffs sent an email stating, “I have added the names of the following 61 Florida County Sheriffs [who] joined the previous six Florida County Sheriffs to announce that they will not enforce laws that violate the Constitution or infringe on the rights of the people to own firearms.”

This means all of Florida’s county sheriffs have now signed the pledge, the first state to achieve 100% compliance with the 2nd Amendment. The list is bi-partisan.

Impressive, but I wonder how many are just going with the flow and expect to never have to keep their word?

Sheriffs answer to their electorate, makes them hard to mess with from outside pressure. Whcih IIRC was the intent of the elected sheriff.

Theres a reason Sheriff Arpaio is still around.

Agreed. I'm just wondering how many interpret that oath to mean "except assault rifles" or some such nonsense. Strickly speaking, I'm pretty sure all of them already enforce the existing ban on post-86' machine guns despite it being a clear violation of the Constitution.

The big danger with sheriffs is the seductive dangling of the federal teat.

All those grants, the surplus federal miltary hardware like AR-15s, armored personell carriers, etc, and the eligibility to participate in federal task forces and the proceeds of federal siezures of property. THAT could seduce some of them where federal coercion could never succeed.
