Saiga IZ-109

Post by 540usmcvet »

Saiga IZ-109 (922r compliant)
DPH arms gas plug
CSS G2 Performance Puc
UTG Rail
Magpul AFG2
CSS Buckshot Shroud
G2 Trigger group w/ JTE Hammer spring & CSS Trigger Guard
ATI Pistol Grip
Phoenix Technologies Kicklite Stock
Midwest Industries Scope mount
Trijicon RX30A-51 reflex sight

This is my first Saiga and I did the pistol grip conversion myself. I'm satisfied with the setup. The various buckshot I ran through tested fine, except for the S&B 00. Doesn't like the walmart bulk target stuff. But, I didn't buy this and set it up to shoot bird shot.

Thanks, this is my first semi auto shotgun and I like it so far. The only other shotgun I own is a Mossberg 535 that I use for trap and turkey. The barrel on that is 28" so it's tough to wield around indoors.

Did some minor work by smoothing out the rough stuff on the bolt and high friction areas. I didn't like the weight distribution, the original setup felt too front heavy. With these new parts, it still weighs around 11.4 pounds but the overall feel is better. Gun shoots anything now compared to the earlier ammo issues.

Magazines and Drums I'm using:
1 - OEM mag (5 round)
4 - Keep Shooting/Taiwanese mags (5 round)
1 - 10 round Promag
1 - 10 round Promag drum
1 - 20 round MD arms drum

Very, very nice! Love the muzzle. How does the gas system like it?
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

runs great and the recoil compensation is apparent during fast strings of fire.

In your second setup, what rail did you end up going with and what is your scope mounted to?

I switched back to the UTG rail, I just don't use the top piece. The Phoenix Technologies forearm rail worked fine till the gun got hot, I like to hold my AK style guns around the gas tube area and if there is no cover there keeping the heat off then my hand doesn't like it.

My scope is mounted to a Midwest Industries AK railed scope mount:

it sits real low, which is great for me. and I like the quick detach.
