Contact your Federal or State Representative and Delegates. Send them an email and let them know that you want them to fight for your Second Amendment Rights.

Paid lobbying has obviously failed miserably. THIS is what we need to do.
We need to tuck in our shirts, shine up our shoes, shave, and march on DC. To the average, anti gun American, we seem like a bunch of crazy, ragtag conspiracy-theorists. If we can fill it up like that, obeying all the laws, without any frothing rabid Alex Joneses and mall ninjas, united with a stream of intelligent, clean cut, grassroots speakers, we can make a difference. Why should peaceful protest be solely a liberal thing? It's also our right. Imagine the impression we could make if we do it RIGHT.
I emailed the GOA about it as, for some reason, I have more faith in them than the NRA.
I see views...nobody has anything else to say? As soon as it was suggested to me (by a moderate liberal, no less), it was like a bell went off in my head. Imagine the press we could get if we have a turnout like that...
We could be a peaceful group of Americans, standing up for our inalienable freedoms. This is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Rights granted us by our creator (God, Yaweh, Shazbot from planet Ibzum 5...) are not up for debate. Let's remind the powers-that-be.
...or is it just easier to toss $25 at the NRA while they do nothing? I'm an NRA and GOA member; they're just not in my sig. Hell-those organizations have the connections to make this happen.
Agreed that a mass turnout gets issues noticed. To do something in the picture takes time, organization (we can't even agree on a date to walk the state capitals, there are, what, three separate dates?), and money (have to pay for the licenses, etc.). I agree that when folks do show up for the state capital events, decent clothes, shaved (gasp!), good manners, and good behavior will go far. Hopefully, with the events, media will also be invited _and_ actually show up _and_ run the coverage. Bozo points for actually having political leadership take a moment to step outside to acknowledge the crowd and say some compelling and supportive words. Leadership committal while being filmed and shown would be best.
And if Bruce Dickinson wants more cowbell, we should probably give him more cowbell!
My sell...
We need to peacefully assemble on the Great Lawn to show we mean business. We need to put forth a good, clean face, the face of the people, to prove we are no different than the rest of the public, we just believe in our own civil liberties.
We need to set an example. We need to prove that we are not mall ninjas obsessed with fantasies of killing Al Queda or holed up in our houses waiting for the Feds to come take our guns. "I'll give them the bullets, first." That's extremist, inflammatory, unnecessary, and in most cases, chest-thumping bravado. We are not that. We need them to see that we don't listen to short wave radios with foil hats. We need their support-the single mom with her old ex-boyfriend's pistol, the hunter with his old 30-30, and beyond that, we NEED TO PROVE THOSE WHO WOULD DEMONIZE US WRONG.
The fact of the matter is this: we need to respect the system. We need to work within it because, flawed and convoluted though it may have become, it is STILL THE BEST SYSTEM in the world. Even if we have allowed our inalienable rights to become watered down, they still exist and the government knows it. In fact, regardless of their interpretations, they are still duty-bound to uphold the laws and rights on the books-and they ARE still on the books. The 2nd Amendment was put in place to protect us from tyranny, be it from external sources or from within our own government. It gives us the means to start a revolution when the powers-that-be are no longer effective, however, WE ARE NOT THERE. Again, we have the best system in the world and we ought to be proud of it.
NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR A REVOLUTION.
People believe, wrongly, that we live in a democracy. This is not true. We are a constitutional republic, which means that while we may use a democratic process to elect officials and pass laws, the CONSTITUTION is not up for discussion. The Bill of Rights is guaranteed; end of story. It doesn't matter what the people want. Pure democracy is mob rule. The mob will inevitably vote themselves free stuff. The mob will want the government to protect them. It is the duty of every man and woman to protect him/herself. Expecting the government to protect one citizen from another is folly. That grants the government powers to which it is not entitled. In fact, it fosters a false sense of security. One man should have the means to protect HIMSELF. A woman should have the means to protect HERSELF. This obviously extends to family-protection from ANY THREAT.
We owe it to our children to make sure THEIR inalienable rights are intact. We need to stop demonizing the gun. We need to march on DC and blot out the green grass with our numbers, listen to REASONABLE, WELL-SPOKEN speakers with level heads. We do not need anymore Alex Joneses or Uncle Teds.
