One scenario for the regime's anti-firearm campaign

Post by FiremanBob »

Two points to note:

1. In the UK, in Germany, Australia, and other countries that passed gun bans, compliance with registration/confiscation seems to be under 20%. I can't imagine any conservative in the US complying with a registration or confiscation law.

2. It was not the Stamp Act, the Townshend acts, or the tax on Tea that sparked the American Revolution. It was the attempted confiscation of arms by the British beginning in mid-1774. The Battle of Lexington and Concord was caused by a British raiding expedition to Concord, Massachusetts, intending to confiscate arms and powder stores owned by the people of Concord and neighboring towns.

I think the "Progressives" (was there ever a more ironically-named political movement?) know these facts. They are also masters of "creeping incrementalism", i.e. the slowly boiling frog strategy. I doubt they will provoke violent resistance, at least not until Zero can sufficiently arm his "civilian security force" of union members and hood rats organized by the "community organizing community". Therefore I believe there will be a three-pronged campaign by the Zero regime:

1. Use the regulatory bureaucracy to harass manufacturers, distributors and retailers and gum up the supply chain for new firearms as much as possible. I expect to see ATF paperwork audits, OSHA accusations, and especially EPA crackdowns on component makers (as the chemicals in powder and primers are rather nasty). I also think they will use the ATF audits of retailers, a part of this program, to create a database of firearm owners and use the personal information gathered for character assassination and defamation (like the newspaper did in NY this month).

2. Decrease as much as possible the supply of ammunition to the public in two ways: (1) Expand the .gov's massive ammunition purchase program to squeeze the supply available to the private market. (2) Enact a punitive tax on ammunition, saying that the proceeds would be used for anti-crime and public health "investments", and force its passage by burying it in a critical piece of a budget or defense bill. Their public message would be similar to the class-warfare rhetoric being used on the tax bill now - "The Republicans want to eliminate public safety just to benefit financially their friends in the NRA and 'gun nuts'."

3. Mount a huge propaganda campaign to demonize and marginalize gun owners in the eyes of the low-information public. They will try to make us all look like insane extremists who need to be restrained in the public interest. This will set the stage for future anti-firearm legislation if they ever get control of the House.

The Demorats are devious and I suspect they have other strategies that I haven't thought of. At a later stage I expect them to try to mandate psychological testing for all firearms purchasers. The Soviets used widely the tactic of "diagnosing" political dissent as mental illness, and it was the Soviet KGB that taught the Democrats many of their present tactics.

So what can we do?

1. I have urged my representative to join with other conservative House members to make a public statement affirming the protection of our constitutional rights and pointing out the lies and hypocrisy of the anti-gun crowd.

2. As Montana, and I think Texas and Utah, did several years ago, get state governments to enact 10th Amendment legislation to challenge federal jurisdiction of firearm and ammunition manufacturers who sell entirely within state lines. What state would not want to grow manufacturing employment by attracting the firearms industry?

3. Get local and state politicians to put their support of the Constitution and 2A on the record. Same with law enforcement officials - especially elected ones like Sheriffs. Make it a campaign issue for them.

I'm sure that you all have many more ideas. The time to resist is now, to pre-empt the gun grabbers of the Far Left. Let us not allow them to control the narrative this time.

This has been the norm for sometime now.

As well, victims are now being honored. I looked up "honor" just to make sure my aged brain wasn't becoming addled or that the meaning of the word hadn't changed. I guess that if the firearm can't be demonized enough then we must elevate the status of the victim.
