I am a legal immigrant. I did not see any restriction over a citizen other than shop employees lack of knowledge.

But did you try to purchase a firearm within 90 days of becoming a legal immigrant?

No, I had other priorities. I don't know many fresh immigrants whose first priority was to buy a firearm. Actually none. That's why I replied. Sounds fishy.
