Just kinda have to wonder. If these were so great why doesn't the gun come with it? Never heard anything about them until now.

In general I'm not a fan of mag extensions. Manufacturers already stuff as many rounds as they can into the mag space. Mag extensions just make things a bit worse and definitely deform the spring, which *might* make it less reliable. Remember, springs do not wear out from being stored compressed/elongated so long as they are operating within a non-deforming region. They do wear out with cycles though. Think of a car that sits on its springs all the time and doesn't wear out, but drive it fast on rough roads and you'll kill not only the springs, but the dampeners as well. However, a mag extension that doesn't increase the length of the mag *must* deform the spring (assuming that the manufacturer already maxed it out without deforming, which is a pretty safe assumption...in fact I'm pretty sure some of them design their mags to deform the spring on purpose as part of a "break in").

Mag extensions that do increase the length aren't good either IMHO. Consider that the spring must now extend that much further (same distance as the extension length) in order to feed the last few rounds. Certainly there is some engineering buffer there, but I personally don't want to use it up for the sake a round or two. Just not worth it to have an unreliable mag IMHO.
