Land for shooting?

Post by vt800c »

I'm looking at a strip of land out past Winchester for use as an 'outdoor recreation area'. It's not very big, only three acres down the side of a hill. I want to use it for camping, a Boy Scout training area :offtopic: , and just a place to 'get away to' on weekends. I'd like to set up a small shooting area :pistol: where we can shoot black powder :sniper: as well as pistols and rifles. I'd be shooting into the side of a hill.

My question is, is three acres enough to shoot in? Mostly cans, paper and a few reactive targets. :crosshair:

Any suggestions on what I should look out for :tinfoil: or who I should talk to?

Thanks

It’s my understanding as long as the land in unrestricted your good to go for shooting…the rest is up to you. I go a machine gun shoot that’s on a little over 6 acres…earth is the back stop. You can get about 10 shooters on the line at one time but brass will be hitting you. I would be more worried about somebody else using it when you’re not there.
