I hate to say it, but I am carefully watching several firms in NOVA. I know several folks (former co-workers) who voted Obama on purely social issues, ignoring all others. Sadly, they work in firms that are ripe for downsizing and recent events have shown no one is safe.

Yeah, I'd heard about this one. One of my mothers liberal friends is very upset that John Schnatter would consider laying folks off over 14 cents a pizza. She referred to him as a "Jerk" and an "A**hole". I pointed out to her that he contributes to the Boy Scouts, has pledged $1 a pizza to help victims of hurricane Sandy, and one or two other charitable things that he's done, pointed out that he's seen fit, thus far, to keep his wife of 25 years, and that, when it comes down to it, he doesn't OWE anyone a job, to begin with. I think my mothers friend is now mad at me.

It is a shame that only those who voted for obama would not lose their jobs. I hate to see anyone lose a job but believe in poetic justice.

What pisses me off is that the White House told employers they could ignore the WARN act... and within 48 hours of the election, government contractors starting issuing pink slips.

Of course. They were afraid people might wake up to the issue and vote his half black rear end out. There is also news floating around that the new record number on food stamps was not released before the election.

I'm dropping my companys group coverage in January, I can switch us to individual policies and save about 35% and people can still take an above the line deduction on it.

As I only have 2 employees none of Obamacare applied to us anyway, but I cut costs where I can. The money saved on premiums is like giving myself a raise.

I'd rather have 4k more for myself on those saved premiums than give it to my insurance company.

If I employed more people I'd look to whack as many as I could in order to pocket the expense that was their salary and its corresponding payroll taxes.

I had to explain to a TRUE SOCIALIST, if you tax the uberwealthy, they will find another country more atuned to their liking.

So you lose that "income tax" from their wealth.

Then they close their business, which provide corporate taxes.

The businesses that support them cut the workforce because that source of revenue is gone.

The guv'mint loses the income taxes from those employees of ALL the businesses.

The Import/Export tariffs are gone.

And the sales taxes are gone...

One stupid, envious, jealous act by "Takers" cost the guv'mint MUCH more than they realize

People hate the thought of "trickle down" economics, but if you stop politicizing it, and actually LOOK AROUND, you have examples! My bank takes us out to lunch on occasion, they have banquets, there are visitors from other divisions in other states/countries...think about the restaurants, car rentals, hotels, and other businesses that benefit from such things...

Now have a hateful attitude towards banks, keeping us from growing, or even cause us to close. Beside costing US jobs, you don't think all those other lil' support businesses won't be affected? Riiiiiggghhhhhtttt!
