Best way to carry a CZ82?
Best way to carry a CZ82?
Does anyone have a recommendation on this? On the gun I normally carry, I keep a round in the chamber, decocked, safety on. On the CZ, the safety can't be engaged unless it is cocked. I'm a little nervous about keeping a round in the chamber with the hammer back, but I know a lot of 1911 carriers carry this way. I also know the CZ isn't a 1911, so... any thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it. My daily carry is cocked and locked. A good exercise is to put a snap cap or keep it unloaded while you "test the limits" of the safety and hammer (and I mean apply reasonable forces on the gun that may occur during carry and see if the hammer falls or the safety disengages or something like that.)
Also a proper holster will ensure the safety of the handgun as much as the actual safeties themselves. One good option is a holster with a thumb break, since the thumb break would go between the hammer and the firing pin on a cocked-and-locked firearm.
And it's always nice to see another fan of slav guns.

Thanks Jeff! I normally use a Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe IWB, which provides good protection for the trigger, but doesn't have a thumb break. I like it because I can wear it with just about anything, and it is very hard to detect. Is there a brand of holster you recommend?

I use the comp-tac MTAC to carry my 1911 which is essentially the same holster you are sporting. I would not hesitate to carry a cocked and locked CZ82 in a holster like that.

Cocked and locked should be a okay on the CZ82 seeing as it's a modern handgun. As other have said, good holster.

I now carry a CZ-82 everyday.. You should be ok with it cocked and locked. but don't take my word on it.. I'm no expert.. just read a lot
But from what I've read and in dissemble of the pistol. There is a internal hammer block safety.
You can see this if you look at the pistol from the top, you will see a 1/16 to 1/8 space between the firing pin and hammer. In that space there is the hammer block, It looks like the sear, but it is not... this block will not allow the hammer to contact the firing pin unless the trigger is in a full rear position.
Essentially that block is there until you pull on the bang switch.
From what I've seen, most seem to carry in condition 2 (one in and hammer down)
a few others condition 1 (cocked and locked)
so to each his own.
Now that being said.. I currently carry condition 3 (loaded but not chambered) .. I no I no.. but I'm still a nooob
have to get use to it... I'll prob move to condition 2 soon
I carry in ether a IWB Don Hume H715-M no.55-45(I think its for a 4" 1911 Taurus) or some no-name soft leather IWB I had for my Browning. both work for now.
I'm looking to getting one of those Remora no-clip IWB holsters. looks comfy and considering I sweat a bit more then most that holster should keep the gun away from me
Just thought of this.. you could try carrying cocked & locked with out one in the chamber and see if the safety or anything else moves on you from daily wear..
anyway HTH gl
