Update on Chicago's Bullet Tax Proposal

Post by ShotgunBlast »

I don't think this has been mentioned, but a new article from a few days ago talks about their proposed bullet tax.
Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle dropped a proposed tax of 5 cents a bullet because the tax in some cases would have been more than the ammunition price itself.
"It is very important to us to tax guns because we know that guns are the sources of the incredible violence we have in our neighborhoods," said Preckwinkle at a news conference on Wednesday. She said 29 percent of the guns used in crimes in Chicago were purchased legally in suburban Cook County.
They just don't get it.

In war zone Afghanistan, 144 US troops were killed between Jan - June 2012. Back home in the US, 228 Chicago residents have been killed during the same time period. At least in Afghanistan the troops were able to fight back.

New York is a good example of what happens when only criminals are allowed to have guns after Sandy.

Ha, Puerto Rico last year had 1,130 murders. From Jan-June this year they had 413 I think. As from Jan - Sep 30th it was 718 murders, 21 rapes, 4,659 robberies, and 2,072 aggrevated assaults.

And then they think they're gun control is good. :hysterical:
:fireright: :fireleft:

Just a few more months until Uncle Sam sends me onto greener pastures. Praying for VA still - Should know within a month. Get me outta here!
