Sterling Arsenal Review

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

Sterling Arsenal Review

Post by FAM »

Hello all,

I just posted a short review of Sterling Arsenal on Yelp, but I thought I would post it here as well, along with a few other comments more appropriate to this forum.

"I recently made my first firearm purchase at this wonderful establishment. I dealt with JD, Omar and Luis, all of whom were cordial, friendly and very helpful. They took the time to ensure I understood how to operate the firearm and seemed genuinely concerned that my needs be met. I don't plan on shopping anywhere else."

By way of background, I did a stint in the Marines, so while I'm fairly familiar with weapons, I had never dealt with any in a civilian context. After two break-ins in my (former) apt building within the span of a month and the birth of my first child, I decided my lack of home defense preparation was untenable. I chose a shotgun as my first step, but had never touched one before, so I could be considered a complete newbie. I also feel like it might be fun to try some 3-Gun, so that was a secondary consideration.

I went in to the store last Friday afternoon, and after a short wait was helped by Omar. He showed me the shotguns in stock and went through the various options and configurations I could consider for my needs. It turned out he was off that day, but helped me out anyway until JD arrived. JD then answered all of my questions and showed me a number of options available in the online inventory until we decided upon a Mossberg 500. He put in the order, took my info and said to expect a call/email next week. Both of them were warm and attentive, to the point that it didn't feel like my first visit.

I received an email yesterday (Monday) informing me that the gun was ready at the shop. I was expecting Wednesday at the earliest, so this was a great way to start the week. I went in, filled out the paperwork with Omar, and received a lot of great advice from Luis. They made sure I understood its basic operation, and throughout the whole process achieved the right balance of recognizing my inexperience with the platform on the one hand and doing so without condescension on the other.

I emailed them a follow-up question today and received a prompt and detailed response. All in all, a great experience.

In short, to anyone considering their first or fiftieth purchase, I highly recommend Sterling Arsenal. In the future, I'm looking to purchase a couple handguns, an AR and (someday) a precision rifle. I already know where I'll be going.

Their employees are very friendly! I plan on purchasing handguns/rifles there in the near future!

I also highly recommend Mr. Mathew Bergstrom from Arsenal Attorneys for creating gun trusts (to simplify/ease the purchasing of NFA Title 2 items) as he works in conjunction with Sterling Arsenal and provide great services.
