Curious question. I was recently given the ability to register a new plate. As the title states, it is a low 4 digit plate. These are apparently a hot commodity in VA, and since it was offered to me, i said why not.
The woman from DMV says that if an officer ran my plates, only the make and model would be available, and no ownership info.
I'm curious as to whether or not this is accurate?
But why would no ownership info be available?

Re: Question 4 Digit Low numbered plates
I've been told that the plates available to gubernatorial appointees (the ones that have the Governor's first initial and then a number on them - such as "M 99" for the 99th one issued during McDonnell's administration) "won't hunt" if the State Police run a check on them; and that this makes them less likely to detain them for any but fairly egregious violations. I'm not familiar with what you've mentioned.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.
