people had kids without hospitals and doctors for centuries. we certainly could go back to that, and i guarantee my wife and I would before we ever let anyone do that to our child :packin:

HHMMMMMM..... If a bear sh!ts in the woods, and there is no envirocop there to scan his barcode, is the bear still guilty of pollution? Who pays for the remediation? If they make dog owners carry doggy pooperscoopers, will they make bears carry teddybear crappergrapplers? Who gets to tell the bears? Who gets to ARREST the bears?

ORS, have you got a picture you could post of Smokey the Bear with a barcode across his rump?

Modern yuppie parents would stand in line for this (as they all think the entire world is out to abduct whatever stupid name their kids have), and the government could mandate the welfare crowd get Daquernicavarius the 74th barcoded to keep their welfare, so they'd do it too.

This isnt unrealistic, in fact I would be amazed if it met with much resistance outside the uh, well, "you people" types.

Remember, it's all in the pitch and the intelligence of the audience receiving it. And governments can be extremely persuasive and people extremely gullible.

Jake, you are wise beyond your years, lol.

Those of us who are Christians will, of course, make the link to the "Number of the Beast" markings that are referenced in the book of Revelations...

Man, I hope that people don't warm to this concept in my lifetime.

Think this through. What would happen as soon as the state became aware this child of yours existed? Assuming you survived the initial contact, the kid would be whisked away to grow up in the warm embrace of the state, while you would get to enjoy the warm embrace of Bubba in the federal pen. Maybe you can fake your way through some contacts with henna tattoos or what have you, but eventually, the odds will catch up and it's bye-bye, Junior.

Unless the kid can stay off-grid their whole life, or there's massive non-compliance making the whole thing moot, your plan is unworkable.

There are off grid people walking amongst us civilians, not in a fortified bunker in the pacific northwest.

Some people just never get in the system and never do. They live like illegals, no drivers licenses (small fine anyway), cash only, and just don't pay their hospital bills and use free clinics for care.

You need to spend more time among the paranoids, you're not seeing all the downsides to measures like this. If the government were to implement a universal tracking system, it naturally follows that they'd make it a prerequisite for doing anything and everything. Evasion becomes very difficult and heavy penalties attach to resistance. Otherwise, what's the point? If it can be evaded easily, it's useless. So unless you can avoid all encounters with The Man, to definitely include never going to hospitals or free clinics, you're going to get caught in the net eventually.

You're forgetting the slippery slope; we can already be tracked via cell phone, internet, etc.

Think of this an imbedded always on GPS signal your phone spews out wherever you take it.

You think this would meet with resistance, I say with the right pitch it will be welcomed.

Yes this would be bad obviously, but times have changed and go with the flow is the order of the day. Even bums get their welfare from debit cards so the state can keep tabs on them.

You can only be tracked by cell phone and internet if you have them. Both of those items are a voluntary service that one pays for.

Some folks get their internet through unlocked wifi signals; that makes them difficult to track.

If I feel like someone may be tracing me through my phone, I can dump it.

An implant would be much harder to dump, especially if you may only purchase a product by scanning it.

Is that the general "you"? Because I don't think it would meet with much resistance provided the government was a little clever with the implementation. (There will always be some who resist, it's just the nature of people; but the ones on the right side of the bell curve will always get outvoted and outbred by the rest.) But the average American has been so conditioned and emasculated that they'll line up for tracking collars or whatever they come up with if the right notes are struck.

They try this and I am calling Rev 13:16, and it is 100% unacceptable. This is one of those things that you resist and you resist until the end of you or them whichever comes first.

Yes, I was speaking generally.

I think if tax credits were offered it'd clinch it. ...make that free big screen HDTV's.

Of course, have to plant 'em real deep so they cant come out easily.

I'm think posterior sternum or frontal lobe (plenty of room!) of the brain. The hand, while having such a romantic Revelations connection would be too easy to remove.
