Ishapore 2a1

Post by MrSmitty »

Howdy all, I'm moving to Virginia today, but had to brag about my last purchase as a Hoosier, an Ishapore 2a1. It is a 7.62 x 51 rifle......No it is NOT a rebuilt Enfield, but a purpose made copy of the Enfield made by the Indian Army, while transitioning to the FN-FAL, for their reserves. I saw these years ago and wanted one, but funds and time never allowed, now I have one!! .... Ok VGOF people where can I shoot this around the Richmond area? Sorry no pictures yet!

:hysterical: No, but I just snagged one of them as well. I don't know of any public ranges you can shoot that rifle at in your area. If you were a member of the Cavalier Rifle and Pistol club, they have a 500 yard range, but I'm not a member there, I just shoot one of their matches. You might want to post this in the Richmond section if you're searching for a range.

First year dues are a little over eight hundred bucks. You've got about a year to get ready though, since they take in new members only in January.

Dang shooting ranges are expensive here!!, in Indiana, alot of the public state parks had free ranges.

A lot of the Wildlife Management Areas have free ranges, but I'm not sure they're open all year round. I know the one in Fauquier is closed from April to September. There may be a few near Richmond that don't close.
