Voter ID Laws May Hurt Obama (Article)
The article linked below is another attempt by the liberal media to try to convince stupid people across America that voter ID laws are an attempt by Republicans to keep law-abiding citizens from voting. This article and the idiot writing it (Deborah Charles) are precisely what's wrong in the U.S. The ONLY thing voter ID laws will do is stop voter fraud -- which is why the libs are ticked off. They know that this will hurt them for that reason. Does she really think people won't vote because they'd have to bring their ID with them or register before the day of the election?? Moron.

Ironic that the same group of "rights" protecting idealists on the left that oppose Voter ID laws, think nothing of attempting to force Gun Laws down out throats, restrict and regulate far and above those ever needed , and stand there feigning total innocence,,, We got a ways to go to get back to what this country should be for sure...

Liberals are crazy. They want to imply - no, they come right out and say it - that they think requiring ID is discriminatory because poor people can't afford an ID. That's an absolutely ridiculous argument.
They have no problem producing ID for some government assistance!
I checked into it and a Virginia State ID costs $10 for an ID that's good for 5 years. If you can't come up with ten bucks, your birth certificate and social security card (or medicare/medicaid card) to get a state ID, then you don't deserve the privilege of voting!

SC tried to work around that to be safe from accusations of discriminating against po' folk...it made a state issued non driver ID free.

Well, still wasn't good enough for DOJ. But that's not the point, the point is stopping these very sensible laws because it will cost Democrat votes as they are the biggest (only?) beneficiaries of voter fraud.

Yeah, I don't understand it myself. I've had an ID card (driver's license) since I was 16. If I moved, I got a new one with my new address. When I married my wife, she got a new one with her new name on it. I believe that photo ID cards should be required to vote to help prevent against voter fraud.
However, I don't agree with the Republicans that their main reasoning behind all this is to prevent voter fraud. It's a smart political move, but let's call it what it is. With an estimated 10% of Americans not having a photo ID, a true plan to help prevent voter fraud would also provide a path to be able to get one. I'm not talking about someone refusing to pay $10 to get an ID. I'm talking about people in the south that were born outside of hospitals during segregation and don't have a birth certificate. Or the person who moved to another state and got a divorce and has no photo ID. These are real problems that need to be addressed, but the current plan is "if you don't have the proper documentation, too bad". If I had to produce my birth certificate today to get a photo ID, I don't know if I could.

I was born outside a hospital during segregation. Got a birth certificate. Lost it. Hall of records is now gone. Still was able to get a new certificate when needed.
10%? I've heard that kind of estimation before regarding another "disenfranchised" group. Those numbers never did pan out.

Naturalization Push Ahead Of November Election
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A coalition of groups supporting immigrants has recruited teams of volunteers to help push programs they hope will add thousands of new U.S. citizens to the voter rolls in several states in time for the November presidential election.
The national push comes after Democratic President Barack Obama has failed to deliver on promised immigration reforms in his first years in office and his likely opponent, Mitt Romney, adopted harsh rhetoric on illegal immigration to win support from conservatives while campaigning for the GOP nomination.
