Glock Gen 4 Design Meeting

I'm pretty much a Glock fan, yet I found this video pretty funny and fairly accurate too. I think Glock now has the Gen 4 9mms finally working right.

I bought one of the first production Gen 4 Glock 19s. I was lucky; mine worked fine from the get go and has continued to perform malfunction free to date - about 7000 rounds. Others were not so lucky. Since my I bought my Glock 19, Glock has made the following changes on Gen 4 9mm models:

1. New recoil assembly (factory recall here)
2. New ejector (different Glock part number)
3. New connector (to get trigger pull weight down to what a Gen 3 had out of the box)
4. Extractors (don't know what changes made - supplier, design, both?)

From what I've heard and read, the new Gen 4s are working fine now. I have a neighbor who just bought a Gen 4 Glock 17. He is using it in competition and it's performing super. The trigger is one of the best I've ever seen on an out-of-the-box Glock regardless of generation.

Though the Gen 4 has had it's hiccups, it is still one of the best out of the box handguns on earth. It's funny how when the best have even the slightest issue, people will blow it out of proportion to try and bring them down. Glock is handling the issues and rectifying all Gen4 pistols that may even remotely be affected by less than stellar parts or design.
