Adult air rifles are great tools to take tree rats with. My favorite is my Airforce Talon SS, it can keep 5 shots .22 caliber 15.9 grain pellets under a dime at 25 yards all day, and under a quarter at 50, so head shots on tree rats are not that difficult. Also consider the quality pellets I use still only cost around $16.00 for 500 and you have an unbeatable combo. Doesn't hurt the gun is so quiet I can pop one that's raiding my bird feeder in the back yard, and the neighbors don't even look over to see what that was.

Just to keep myself out of trouble with the neighbors...What are the rules regarding garden defense from squirrels via air rifle? I was considering getting a pellet gun, and now that one of those little tree vermin actually opened a postal package on my front step today, I'm more inclined toward :tommygun: .

They are game animals, and are subject to the hunting laws of the state/county.
