I just moved from Short Pump to Montpelier. I used to go to Dominion, but I think it was called The Firing Line back then. Recently I have usually gone to a friend's house in Amelia to shoot rifles 25, 50 and 100 yards and pistols at 25. I would like to find someplace to shoot 200 and 500 yards and maybe work may way up to 1000.
Now I can hear at least 2 of my neighbors shooting all the time, but it is too far away to know exactly which neighbors they are... and probably not a good idea to walk through the woods towards the sound. My house is in between 2 horse farms so I don't have a safe place to shoot on my property.
Cavalier shooting range is up the road, but they are expensive. They have some public events though. I am going to check one out sometime this month. Colonial just opened in the west end too... I haven't made it there yet either... they say they allow rifles, but it is indoor, so you can't go past 25 yards.
