2011 Hunting Photo Thread

Post by meak99 »

Well, now that I've bagged one worth showing off... I'll go ahead and start a thread for all the hunters to show off this years meat and trophies.

I started it off with a small doe during muzzle loader season, and a home-cast boolit

Next, opening day of shotgun season, I bagged a meatbuck and a big doe

Then, this past Sat, I scored this huge 7 pt. 19.5" spread, 25" main beams, 115 unofficial B&C score - my biggest yet

Awesome job!

I didn't do quite as well this weekend, but still got some meat for the freezer.

YardDawg, looks like you did fine. Bucks are nice and all but its not like you can cook the antlers.

Agreed on the antler comment. Their nice to hang on the wall, but I'd rather eat a 2-3 y/o doe any day of the week.

Got this 8 pointer 18-1/2 inch wide at AP Hill 11/11/11 in one of the CA areas. My 13 year old son got the doe in the background at a TA area the following day.

Likewise for your photo being on Twitter as well. I mainly hunt the CAs, but spend some time in the TAs, if my favorite CA spots aren't open. This was my third full year hunting APH - took 5 overall to fill the freezer. I live 10 minutes from the main gate, so I spend a LOT of time there from Oct-Dec.
