Ranges Near Tazewell, VA

Post by FenrirKildar »

My girlfriend's father lives in Tazewell, VA and she was looking at purchasing him a membership for a local range as a gift for Christmas. He has alot of firearms but very few places to shoot them regularly. Any suggestions? We both live in the Tidewater area so we don't really know anything about that area of Virginia.

Thanks

I live 75-80 miles from Tazewell, and I don't know of any close to there; unless they might be in West Virginia.

Closest one that is in Va is outside of Blaskburg, at the National forest range..free of charge, at your own risk....Ask someone who owns some land around Tazewell. Or, go over Roaring fork, down in between the mtns.....

There is the Wythe Range...exit 47 off I-77 onto Rte 717. As str8dwn said, it's free and in the National Forest. I went there the other day, and there were a few people in and out while I was there watching. I haven't got my 1st gun yet, so was just there scoping things out.

You have to bring your own targets, and walk out to set them, so be prepared to get a little exercise. But, it's a pretty good place, and the price is right!

Good luck,

Irish
