Obama to Congress: I’ll Decide What’s Constitutional

Post by Taggure »

This part of this newsletter scares the hell out of me. if you think about it the Checks and balances were put into our goverment structure in order to keep one branch or individual from gaining to much power and here we have the President saying that he will do what ever he damn well wants to do. The last I heard it was not the Presidents place to determine the constitutionality of a law but to make sure that all were enforced not just the ones that he believed in. Who the hell does this man that is our current President think he is THE KING? Well that he surely is not and we need to vote him out of office. Okay I will get off my soap box now, but this just bugs the hell out of me.
Obama to Congress: I’ll Decide What’s Constitutional: This week, NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox wrote a comprehensive op-ed for the Daily Caller regarding President Obama abusing executive privilege and seeking new ways to vilify gun owners and further his anti-gun agenda.

The bill he signed allowing indefinite detention of "suspected terrorists" is the most troubling. ("National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012).

The disgusting legislators that birthed it and this prick for signing are actually killing the 4A with gusto.

They say, "If you're not a terrorist, what're you afraid of"?

Well, lets see how easily the "T" word gets thrown around.

http://ottumwacourier.com/local/x166605 ... -terrorism
OTTUMWA — An Ottumwa High School student has been charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism.

Police arrested Emily Kay Six, 16, Ottumwa, on Thursday. Officials said they began investigating after Six allegedly began trying to recruit students for what police called “a plan to harm a number of students.”

The charge is a Class D felony. Six was taken to a juvenile detention facility following her arrest.
Had she been arrested a week later she could have been deep sixed for life.

Only a matter of time until everyone is a turrist.

"Signing statements are highly controversial, and their legality is disputed. Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, broke the record for most signing statements by a president."

So, did you guys complain so vehemently when Bush II refused to "obey the law?"

In Short to answer your question YES I did complain about George W Bush

W was a big government Republican that took away a lot of our privacy with a little thing called the Patriot Act, and the creation of Homeland Security, and the TSA, as well as numerous other infringements on yours and my liberties that I totally disagree with. Now those things are so ingrained in our society that it would seem like we are stuck with them. More and more we hear how the TSA is implementing this regulation or that regulation in the performance of keeping us Safe and Secure.

The current President is doing even more to infringe on our liberties then W ever did in my opinion, but is not doing it overtly. Instead he is taking away our liberties by creating regulations through the use of his departments to bypass congress to get his agenda through. Just look at Attorney General Holder if you need an example of how this President is infringing on our 2A rights by secretly pushing is anti-gun stance through the justice department, and not enforcing laws because this administration does not think they are Constitutional.

Anyway that is enough for now, but to reiterate I did a lot of complaining about George W Bush as well.

Yes, IMHO signing statements are the President putting Congress on notice that he has no intention of respecting the division of powers, the law, and thus the Constitution.

Dubya was the first to push the executive branch into being able to rule by decree, I blame him for setting the precedent that the Prez calls the shots. It will only get worse.
