Can you shoot anything in the matches?

The Web site implies (listed under ammunition) that rifles of pistol caliber and shotguns with bird shot are allowed. I've shot this match a few times, but I've never seen anyone shoot anything but a pistol. Only once did I see a fellow shoot a .22 pistol and it had lots of problems with the falling steel targets.
