Hey guys I'm going to be applying for my concealed carry permit Monday at circuit court. I have my paper work, took a class , and I also have my DD-214 from the Army. I was wondering will my concealed carry permit be denied. Because in 2007 I was charged with assault in which I recieved a PBJ PRobation before judgement . That's not a conviction. An I was also charged with burglary. Which I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That was steted. All this stuff is behind me now. I was able to move to Virginia and purchase a Glock after a 3 day wait period. I was approved once they seen I was not convicted on either charge. Now I'm wondering is this going to stop me from acquiring the concealed carry permit. Please let me know what you guys think ! Thanks in advance because I don't want to be wasteing 50 dollars if I'm gonna recieve a denial letter.
I'm no lawyer, but if you were able to purchase your Glock, I'd think you'd be able to get your CHP. If you do get a denial, I'd think you'd have grounds for appeal - make sure you have all the paperwork regarding the two issues in order, just in case.
