Question for the experts here. I am a resident of VA and I purchased a stock Savage 110 bolt-action rifle using one of those gun auction websites. The seller is a pawn shop with an FFL in WV. It's close enough that I want to simply drive there and pick it up - saves the shipping cost. Can I do this? I don't think I need to have my FFL or C&R to purchase and pick up a non-regulated long gun from another state, but I want to make sure.
Thanks

I did exactly the same thing except I went from VA to NC. No problem, unless WV has some legal impediment (which I very much doubt). I'd call the WV dealer and ask him.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.

It's really up to the dealer, check and see.
I won a C&R rifle on Gunbroker some years ago and went to the shop in MD to pick it up. They refused to deal with me, even though I'm pretty sure it was allowed then and still is now. At least, I don't know of a MD law against it (since it was legal federally and for VA). So, check before you make the drive.

Thanks for the replies. I had no problems whatsoever. Just paid for it and walked out with it (after the NICS check).
