Re: The way of the gun How easily do local convicts find firear
They have an opening in the editor-in-chief position over there. The previous minister of misinformation has fled to NYC for some real "Big City (Group) Thinking."
Here was my e-mail to discuss their job opening:
Dear Thir, (lisp of the new castrati)
I have enjoyed your weekly magazine for the last decade, but not for reasons you might expect. While the "other" weekly magazine, The Hook, continues to rack up award after award, growing in stature and reputation, I have observed your rag shrink down to less than 50 pages from closer to 90. It is appropriate in that its heft now matches its worth.
The rants, tantrums and general whining of your "reporters" and "editors" is very amusing in their pitifullness and simplicity. Your fanning of local Bush Derangement Syndrome was especially enjoyable to observe. So much hatred and vitriol is not healthy, but is humorous to the rational spectator. Keep up the fruitless endeavors!
I am certain that you will have no problem locating another lock step liberal to act as editor in chief for your hamster cage liner. This town is literally teeming with them!
Charlottesville is the most navel gazing, self-assured, self-centered town I have ever lived near. Self admitted liberals are a mere 20% of the nation's population, but you go ahead and attempt to maintain the facade that the other 80% of us are all wrong all the time.

The folks who wrote that POS need to a dose of reality.. It would appear that they actually beleive these people just go and buy a gun on the street or in a bar somewhere and they're going to stop that with some chicken $poop little, law. Funnier is they sem to think the sellers of these guns are going to knuckle under and ask for ID's and have the con sign a bill of sale..//

There is no reality to be found here in Charlottesville. They'd have to import it.

1st month in town, a father told me how he explains it to his daughters, so they don't make the mistake of thinking the rest of America is identical to CHO.
He tells them that they are growing up in the land of Oz!
Me thinks that is because here there are boundless monkeys are already in flight, having long since exited from the local zany populace's unwashed behinds.

Re: The way of the gun How easily do local convicts find firear
Uh, excuse me, but I have a recommendation that might help stem crimes like this and others too...
1. Lock them up in the local jail
2. Sterilize them the same they way do cattle (rubber band method so they can watch it shrivel away over the course of several days)
3. Film the entire process and edit in that eerie horror music but make sure their every word, whimper, and scream can be clearly heard
4. Feed them enough female hormones to get em "prettied up a little"
5. Turn em loose in general population at the nearest prison
6. Post the videos on Youtube, Flickr, Facebook, etc and air them over national and local tv stations
7. Hold a press conference with the local constables so they can ask "who's next?"
On second thought, this is far too inhumane...NOT...especially for what criminals like this cost society...
and the ever ubiquitous
to round out my post...
disclaimer - this is not my idea...I'm merely cutting and pasting from the internets...

No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

I definitely get confused when I visit Cville. The mix of trucks with hay bales and the liberal college crowd is just strange

Didn't the "Dave Matthews Band" come from C'Ville? so, yeah its a strange place I'll give you that. But the FBI has a lovely building in the downtown area with lots of rooms for the weirdos and criminals (I hear anyway
).

Re: The way of the gun How easily do local convicts find firear
This was started the same week that I moved to C'ville from Ohio.
I'm now living with my daughter, who is a co-manager of a Kroger store, and a Charlottesville Police officer.
The same week I moved here a local weekly paper publisher came out with a new style paper called Crime Times.

Here's an article about it from August: Smile! Mugshot mag flying off shelves
Or Tammi, the LEO, will say something like, "I've taken that one in several times."
It seems that a lot of business owners are buying the paper to get familiar with probable shoplifters.
Sometimes it's fun to turn the lights on just to see the roaches run and hide.
Those of you looking for some extra income might want to explore this idea for your area/county.

I makes for some interesting dinner conversations. Melissa, my daughter, will point at someone and say "We busted her for shoplifting $200 worth of meat last month".Getting arrested has never been something to boast about, and thanks to a new weekly publication, it may have gotten even more embarrassing.
Launched June 1, Crime Times offers page after page of mugshots of offenders booked on crimes ranging from disorderly conduct to first-degree murder. At a time when most local publications are free, this tabloid– distributed across Charlottesville and surrounding counties– sells for $1, and yet it's flying off the shelves.

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

While the majority may be (probably are) guilty, some may not be. As an example Skidmark, see http://vagunforum.net/general-discussio ... t=skidmark.
Paul was charge basically for contempt of rent-a-cop. His picture was printed in the paper and when found not guilty do you think the paper printed that information, H*** No.
I'm all for publicizing the ones found guilty. But remember in this country you are innocent until found guilty in a court of law. JMHO

My daughter brought home her copy last night and I looked at it more closely.
The pictures printed are not arrest mug shots, but rather all pictures are of people that are/were incarcerated in prisons/jails.
That is, they have been found guilty or pled guilty.
Side note: At dinner last night one of the two ladys said that one of the people they caught yesterday brightened up and asked, "Will my picture be in Crime Times?" Go figure.

That sounds a lot better if they are already convicted. ThanksAlanM wrote:I had the same concern when I first heard about this paper.fireman836 wrote: I have a small problem with this.
