New Guy Moving to Chesapeake

Hello everyone, I will be moving to Chesapeake in the middle of May, and I can't wait. I'm coming from Cali where I've been for the past 6 months due to my job and I can't wait to get out of this state. Before Cali I was in Charleston SC but I'm original from FL. I look forward to being able to buy, sell, CC, and shoot guns freely again.

Where is a good place to go shooting?

I do have my CWP from FL, which is where my residency is, and from my understanding I will be able to carry in VA just the same as in FL, is this true or should I pursue getting my VA CWP? Thanks for the help and God bless.

Welcome aboard! I believe your Florida CWP is recognized here. See http://www.nraila.org/recmap/virginiarec.pdf for more info. I usually shoot at the military ranges here, but where you shoot depends to some extent on what you shoot (e.g., I go to one range for skeet/trap, and another for rifle/pistol). There are a number of civilian ranges in the area -- I recommend you look at the Range Reports forum to get the opinions of others.

For simply shooting I go to differnt ranges. Indoor ranges
Bob's Gun shop in Norfolk
Superior Pawn & Gun in Virginia BeachFairly cheap rates.
For outdoor
C2 shooting Range in Pungo A bit more pricey.
