Selling Rifles in Virginia
Selling Rifles in Virginia
My father in law gave me his rifles, about 15, and I do not need them and quite frankly want to sell them. Since the Dems took over in Virginia is it legal to sell rifles, VA resident to VA resident, without a FFL? I also have a shotgun, probably 13-15 rifles total. I have researched on internet but just can't get clarity. Thanks
Re: Selling Rifles in Virginia
As of July 1 2020 all transfers of firearms in Virginia must go through a FFL, even in state sales.
There are no exemptions for transfers between family, so if your gift from your father in law was made after 1-july, that transfer should have been through a dealer.
in case you have insomnia, and want to read the law...
